Environmental responsibility made tangible through place.

The case in one view

The guest journey is the communication mechanism.

Rooted in Practice makes the place itself the communication system. Guests encounter practice, hear the reasoning and see the evidence behind it.

THE CASE FILM

From Land to Experience

A one-minute journey through the places, practices and encounters that make sustainability tangible across Vivere il Presente. From vineyard and kitchen garden to winery, kitchen and table, the film follows how environmental practice becomes part of the guest experience.

Rooted in Practice · Vivere il Presente · EEA 2026
THE LAND AS THE FIRST COMMUNICATION LAYER

Guests encounter environmental practice in the vineyard.

Cover crops / green manure were used across all Belvedere1 vineyards in 2025–2026. No herbicides were used across the relevant vineyard parcels. Established vineyards were managed without irrigation during the period, except approximately 2.8 ha of new 2025 plantings that received establishment watering.

PRACTICE EVIDENCE | NOT OUTCOME PROOF

No measured biodiversity or soil-health improvement is claimed.

Making the invisible tangible

Soil cores turn difference into conversation.

QUALITATIVE EXPLANATORY DEVICE

A physical prompt for explanation.

Physical soil and geological materials help explain vineyard differences through a tangible, place-based encounter.

Not laboratory measurement.
Not proof of improved soil health.

“Visits, tours and tastings connect environmental practice with place.”

Encounter → explanation

Practice becomes part of the conversation.

Sustainability is normally woven into vineyard visits, cellar tours and guided tastings. Content varies with guest interest.

Vineyard practices, soils, cellar choices and responsible wine production become part of a direct conversation with guests.

Locanda Le Piazze  |  Apr–Jul 2026 vs 2025

The matched period shows lower resource intensity.

WHAT THE TWO METRICS SHOW

Two separate hospitality datasets show estate-produced wine reaching the guest experience. They remain separate and show hospitality integration, not food sourcing, procurement, carbon or environmental outcomes.

Perception

Sustainability was perceptible to a guest sample.

4.60

48 LLP respondents
“How visible were our sustainability practices during your stay?”

The result supports perceptibility within this sample. It does not demonstrate learning, behaviour change, causality or all-guest sentiment.

Separate LLP post-stay sample

Not a winery sample. Not representative of all guests. No causal attribution.

Evidence & methodology

Clear scope keeps the case credible.

Every result is presented with its unit, period, denominator and claim boundary visible.

Measurement windows

LLP: Apr–Jul 2026 vs 2025, per reported room night. QB: 1 Jun 2025–31 Aug 2026, 625/715 bottles. TLP: 1 Jun 2025 06:00–28 Aug 2026 06:00, 639/1,398 units.

03

Scoped verification

OBT / LLP: property-scoped 5 Eco Leaves. VIVA: named-product scope. B1 organic: conversion in progress within certificate scope.

04

Boundaries

Soil and geological materials are qualitative. Utility comparisons are non-causal. Perception is not learning. Wine figures show hospitality integration, not environmental outcomes.

OPERATING CONTEXT

2025 was the first guest-facing season for One Belvedere Tuscany, Belvedere1 Winery and QB Cucina. Agricultural and winemaking activity at the estate predates this phase; Locanda Le Piazze and Tavola Le Piazze have welcomed guests since 2013. The case therefore combines practice and guest-experience evidence from newer operations with comparative evidence from longer-established hospitality businesses.
